The List: Top Performers Week 4

The List highlights Top Performers from Week 4.

1.) Manti Te’o  LB  Notre Dame

For the 2nd straight week Te’o led the Fighting Irish team to a victory over a Top 25 team. In both victories the Notre Dame defense has yet to yield a touchdown. Last night Te’o was all over the field accumulating 8 tackles, a tackle for loss, and 2 INTs.

2.) E.J. Manuel  QB  Florida State

Last night’s 49-37 win over #10 Clemson may well be Manuel’s best performance of his career and just may have triggered a Heisman campaign. Manuel made play after play completing 27-35 passes for 380 yards and 2 TDs. Additionally Manuel ran for another 102 yards on just 12 carries.

3.) Tavon Austin  WR  West Virginia

Yesterday afternoon Maryland proved to be a much bigger challenge to the Mountaineers than what many had originally foreseen going in. West Virginia did escape however with a 31-21 victory in large part to the monster game Tavon Austin had. Austin caught 13 passes for 179 yards and 3 TDs.

4.) Gary Nova  QB  Rutgers

Arkansas had been battered the week before against Alabama, and Gary Nova didn’t make things feel any better this week. Nova led Rutgers to a solid road win over the Hogs yesterday by throwing for 397 yards and 5 TDs.

5.) Stefphon Jefferson  RB  Nevada

Thru the season’s 1st 3 games Jefferson had been solid running for over 500 yards and scoring 5 TDs. Yesterday Jefferson basically lived in the end zone running for 170 yards and 7 TDs in the Wolfpack’s 69-24 win at Hawaii.
